Deep Vision research version ready for delivery
Developed over a period of more than 10 years, the research version of the Deep Vision underwater sampling system is finally ready for delivery. The first orders will be delivered by the end of 2017.Deep Vision is a stereo camera subsea sampling system for marine research vessels that makes sampling possible without bringing the catch onboard the vessel. A subsea unit attaches to the trawl and includes a stereo camera, light system and batteries that record ten image pairs per second. The images are provided with information about depth and position of where they are recorded before they are further analyzed for species and length in the Deep Vision software.Deep Vision can operate safely down to 2000m depth and be combined with a sorting mechanism that can be used to catch a selection of fish for further biological sampling. The addition of an acoustic link will make it possible to send statistical information about the catch from Deep Vision to the vessel.Delivery time for Deep Vision is 20 weeks. The sorting mechanism and acoustic link are offered as optional add-ons and delivered Q2 2018. All new versions of the Deep Vision analysis software and subsea software will be available for a free upgrade within two years from the date of purchase of the system. Species recognition and length measurements are expected to be fully automatic in the software by Q2 2018.Related:
